Presidency University Founders’ Galleries

Founders’ Gallery – Ground Floor – after renovation

As a pert of the Bicentennial Celebrations, Presidency University added two galleries – one on the ground floor and another on the first floor – in the spaces under the staircases, that were till now perceived as negative spaces for unwanted activities. not least storage of janitors’ buckets and floor swabs.

Under some excellent creative support from WYSIWYG Communications, we were able transform these spaces into places of reverence, evoking the spirit with which intellectual, visionaries entrepreneurs like Raja Rammohun Roy, Sir Edward Hyde East, Radhakanta Deb Bahadur, Baidyanath Mukhopadhyay, David Hare, and Rasamay Dutt, founded an institution that helped shape so much of what we are today
